Just making the basic foundation for an illustration for an introduction of a new character of mine, Xakurai, an Elven Warmage. A wood elf by blood, she had learnt some of the magicks observing another child, a high elf group passing through, in practice, finding it to be rather delightful, that is until the war with another tribe of elfs began. Seeing the dire need of aid, all mages were conscripted into battle at the front lines. Though many perished, not skilled for close combat nor for casting spells in such conditions; the ones who did see it through, began to develop new incantations and preparation spells. Thus enabling the WarMage to appear. From a young age, children who followed this path would be required in this training to become adapt to in-combat casting. And so, Xakurai, was amongst those children, not by her will as her potential was seen by the others. The war continued, land gained and lost, in addition to numerous lives. Xakurai, however, would flee as the woods of her home burned to ash, the smoke filling the air and her lungs as the chants of the other Warmages continued as they fell one by one. She now wanders, becoming a nomad once more as her kin once did before. Her only concern would be herself, as her tribe no longer existed.

That's the story and I'll be doing some concept art next to get down her look.
